Nice work mate ;D just a question is it me or does the engine sit quite high? Just looking at the the gearbox tail in ralation to the tunnel and rocker cover with the bulkhead top rail or is the K series that is a tall engine. Cheers Bomber

Bomber your right about the gearbox at the moment, but if you look at the picture again the gearbox tail is sat on some wood which in turn is sat on the floor of the car. This means its TOOOO high, and will sit in the tunnel when finally positioned... The engime is also a little high due to the sump and once I've bolted it back on again it should sit lower and not fowl the rack. Cheers Marcus

Does changing the shape of the sump not cause issues, like, will it hold enough oil now?
Are you going to have to put another drain plug in the back as now its a split sump like my mustang?

Mark the sump was shaped similar to now but it was a gentle curve so the oil capacity I've lost will nearly be counter acted by the oil cooler and pipe work.
Also yes it is now a split sump but fortunatly for me the engine lives on a slight slant to the passenger side and this should (fingers crossed) mean the oil wont collect in the pocket when I need to drain it....

I WAS GONNA QUESTION ABOUT OIL DRAINAGE, BUT IF IT DON'T WORK, YOU CAN WELD IN A PIPE FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER, IT CAN BE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE SUMP PAN AS LONG AS IT FLOWS

Playing the Hokey Cokey......(PHILIP) I bolted the sump on and dropped the engine/box back into the hole... So after propping the motor into place I thought it was time to make sure the bonnet would go on without touching the engine.. Loads of clearance.. ;D Which is good next is to pop a seat in and make sure the gear lever is gonna be some where near.I've also decided to do away with the clutch cable and make it hydraulic and will show you how I propose to do this in another thread... Cheers Marcus
