Went to the drags and had a bit of a nightmare with lack of grip. Then spent time on the Caltracs, set them to hit the tyres harder and stopped them binding on the springs.Went back to Shakey on Saturday and ran a 1.89 60ft with 12.37@110mph terminal.Well pleased with that!

Well according to the local scrappy (or his weighbridge) it's currently about 730 kg,but my classic Midget friends tell me it must be less than that,so at some point I'll try to get it properly corner weighted.I plan to shed about 30 kg more from it over the winter, rebuild the caltrac system and MAYBE tweak the boost up a bit more.It will be on the Midget and Sprite stand at the NEC show in November,so maybe see some of you there?

Went to Shakey last weekend, first run for nearly a year.Half way up the strip the clutch grenaded then a couple of bangs that turned out to be Nitrous burps.Rolled to a stop with no drive in any gear and the engine idling at 3000 rpm.The Su damper rod was sticking out the plastic top cap and I suspect other damage.Heyho engine out tomorrow and then we'll see.I think the dump valve after the NOS nozzle was a mistake as when it opened it let out NOS/fuel right by a glowing exhaust manifold.....

All in the name of speed hey Steve. But look on the bright side at least the car survived to tell the tale, it could of been a cloud of black smoke and some very large flames...

Pulled the engine/box today. The bellhousing is stuffed with shredded clutch lining, don't know yet about the clutch assy or flywheel. From the black inside the inlet I think the bang was in the carb/plenum and probably ignited from the cylinder since the dump valve has neat little carbon traces on the outside of each port.No other obvious damage in this area.Engine turns freely.
