Need more info on how the pedal box fit into your baulkhead, whats the 1x1 tube at the top ?? Go back and read the thread again.... I also welded some gussets between the box section and the flat plate plate to add extra strength but it was too hot to hold and photograph, so I'll add those picture tomorrow night...

nothing can be bad if it's over engineered. 1. it will do the job it's meant to 2. it won't break if abused 3. piece of mind for safety 4. it will last

ORIGAMI...... Well as some of you know, me and pencils and paper and drawing just dont go at all..... But tonight I had to bite the bullet, get me scissors and card board out and make a full size template of the fire wall I want to fit... I managed to get me self a lot of old box's, so that I could try and try again to get it right..... It took me just over 3 hours to make this but I had to get it done because I've got an appointment with a bender in the morning... Cheers Marcus

So this morning was an early start and down to Carl's for his expert opinions, and quality of workmanship.... First job was to lay the template flat on the steel and draw round it... The measurements where then checked so that the fire wall would fit first time.... Carl cut off the bits we didn't need and kept checking the measurements, am sure he said measure twice cut once.... ;D He then suggested that we rolled a bead into the centre section to break up the flatness and also to add a little strength and hopefully stop the panel from drumbing.... It was then into the folder to make the whole thing take shape, and last but no means least tig weld the slopped edges to the flaps cut earlier..... So after another cuppa it was off down to the garage to try it out.... With a little bit of a jiggle its gonna fit just right...... I then dropped the engine and box back in to try it for clearance... I checked inside the car for clearance, especially around the pedal box area and all was good.... Cheers Carl for your time and effort this morning it was much appreciated and I think I picked up some of your top tips of the day...... Cheers Marcus

A little bit of an update today.... After making the fire wall it was time to think about the trans tunnel. I had decided to have a go at this with some of the 1.2mm sheet that was left over from the fire wall. I payed Carl a visit and borrowed the use of his gilotine and folder. CHEERS CARL Once back at the garage I was planning on laying a large oxygen tank on its side and forming the trans tunnel around it....This turned out to be toooo wide for what I wanted, I went out into the street and found that the lamp posts where just right but I couldn't exert enough strength to bend it, so searched around for something more suitable..... I found a couple of old fire exstinguishers but these where not tall enough on there own...So i kept looking and then came up with this.... So it was just a case of standing on the ladder and press down on the steel.... ;D Its not finished yet but it was time for a trial fit... Cheers Marcus

I was a bit confused then slowly moving down the pics I thought you were building a fire exstinguisher powered buggy. Very clever but what did you try first mmmmmmm please tell the rest of the viewers.
