ok my history into the roddin scene !! well to be honest it goes so far back i dont remember?( i was brought home from maternity ward in a beach buggy) my old man was always into the rod/yank/drag scene.. earliest memorys are doin the lunchtime cruise at york drags in a guys pop, and another fellas tbucket , this would be the early 80s , when i wasnt much older than my lad (4).. so i grew up doin york drags leeds cruise and wherever else we went for the day ,.. then as my age hit double figures i was allowed to attended the full weekends away .. all the big pod meets , nasc nats ( first one 87) stuff like that...... as you can imagine all his mates were car guys too..( many of whom i still see , or are in our club now.. ) after i left school , i still did the odd meet here and there... but as you do in ya late teens you go off n do your own thing , had a couple of vespas, then a hot hatch or 2.. at 21 i came back into the fold as it were with a 1965 hillman minx.. that lasted a season i think ?? made a good buddy in my mate Mark , we was the same age and the youngsters in the crowd ... had a long spell away from the whole thing(10years) , chasin a job path in the pub / club trade, met the mrs 7 years back , had a kid, all that stuff..... 3 years back or so , got back in touch with mark.. started doin the cruises again , introduced the mrs to the scene, took her along , went to drayton in 2010.... she loves it , so this year bought my old moggy , and got back into it proper .. with what ya might call a passion to make up for lost time .. me n mark thought we should get our pals together , band up n start a club , ! KNIGHTS cc .... i thought a cruise would be a good plan too .. so started up our "END OF MONTH " at st james retail park in knaresborough......................... and thats my life story, in a nutshell !!!

My big brother and later his 67 cougar got me really into cars. My 1st car at 16 was a Anglia 1200 super estate. Following this at 17 was a Firenza 2000SL. Exchange & mart secured me a droop snoop 2300 engine with 45 webers. Engine fitted on Saturday and rwyb Sunday....only to have my doors blown off by a Harris mob anglia So fitted a NOS port injection kit adding an extra 60hp Ended up with 3.73 gears, 1256 f/springs, fuel cell, cage and cragar sst's....and plastic wings! i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/Mustanglimey/Limeys%20old%20rides/633639929857812500.jpg[/IMG] Then came a Viva GT. 2300, webers, nitrous overdrive, had some decent bits. Me & my bother...check out the farahs! Destroyed clutch/flwheel and got pissed off so got a nice cruiser, 1st of four 3 liter capris. 3.0S manual, 3.0S auto, 3.1 X pack, 3.0 ghia auto. In between the capris had a 66 GT mustang, bench seat, and bits rifled from my brother...4.29 gears ,holeshot, B&M q/click. Then a load of 'normal' cars as kids/house/wife. Around 2001 my wife let me buy a mustang and get back to my true passion. 1997 svt cobra, 4.10s and minor mods. Real nice car but with my old buddies racing after 6 years sold it on to get a street/strip car which brings me up to date. Just like to add the best thing about this hobby is a hell of a lot of mates from the early 80s are either still into it or rejoining it like me. Can honestly say the last 10 years have been fantastic meeting up with old and making new friends.
