Idle problem sorted... Helps when the idle screw it actually touching the throttle body butterfly
The missfire seems to have gone but probably still wants the timing looking at.
But been out for a spin for a couple of hours, feels great, grinning ear to ear ;D

Sorry to hear you have had problrms mate. That bugger has had some amps through it, do you know why the kill switch caused it?

Yeah. The kill switch has 6 terminals (three switches). With there being no wiring diagram with it, assumed that all the switches were "normally closed" and that when you pull the kill switch, it opens them all breaking the circuits and stopping the car WRONG! One of the three switches is normally open... This is the one i wired the alternator charge through. So whilst i drove 60 miles to kens and back, the alternator was pumping all the charger into one wire and acted like a 12 foot long heater wire. Thankfully, i have followed the wiring and have found the other it has melted!! It was an earth wire for the MSD, this fed back to the ignition switch making all the ignition lights come on and the fuel pump purge without the keys even been in as they were getting a supply down the alternator wires. When i tried to start the car, it wouldnt as there was no longer an earth to the MSD. I split the two wires and fixed the bare bit of wire, rewired the alternator and all is good again And i didnt have to take the dash out!!! ;D I have also sorted my sloppy steering, the newish boss i had for the steering wheel is typically american and shit! The steering column is a round shaft with 4 flats on it, the boss is a round hole with only two flats!!! And the car is designed to have power steering, because iv taken mine off i have to put more force into the steerting and its just wearing away at the boss. Iv put a grub screw through the side of the boss which has cured it for now, i dont think it will last forever but it will give me enough time to sort a new steering wheel out. So, not a bad day really, i was quite lucky with the melting! And iv got a couple of other problems sorted that i needed to look at

I'm pleased that there was not more damage all the work that could have been undone and more importantly no fire!! Sounds like a complex kill switch mine is a simple 2 pole breaking the main feed from the battery, is your special for racing requirements.
Could you change the steering column shaft having one made with good old splines
Lets hope all goes well now

One with spines would be nice, i might look into it as i know someone who might have a spare that i can butcher
Yeah, if you kill your kill switch, there is a theory that the the charge that the alternators makes is enough to keep the engine running on and igniting any stray fuel after you roll your car down the banking of the M1. Mine kills the main positive, the alernator charge and the switch live from the msd to the coil.

Guess RM can knock one of them up!
Best not do that with the kill switch then
