Just thought I would post a couple of pics from last night, a mate of mine at work is into classic cars and runs the Dukeries Classic Car Club, he asked me to turn up in the Anglia. The weather was a bit changable but it was better than staying at home doing the garden.
There was a nice range of cars mainly British sports cars about 35 in total which included a TR2 TR 4/5/6 and number of MGB GT including a nice V8 which was converted to fully indenpandant suspension, most of the cars were from the 50/60/70s. The Intercetor was really nice a rae 7.8 litre FF (4WD) The Anglia went down well unusual cos some of these classic car peolpe can be a bit precious. Has you can see Richard Mann turned up in the Grand Torino (Mark he's on with your NOS bracket ;D he has been busy doing some work for PK's Consul).
Above Damiler Dart 250 SP was beautifully restored to showroom condition, one of only 300 examples on the road the owner told me, next a Damiler V8 250 both of course running the 2.5 litre hemi.
The Stratos was a kit car but it had been built with no expense spared this had a Alfa Bi Turbo 2litre engine, was very crampped inside. The Intergrale was the real thing left hand drive and sounded awsome with some real tubro whistle.
The TR2 only had 3000 miles on the clock, strange sad story it belonged to soldier that was killed in Korea and it had been stored in a crate for 45 years on a army base in Germany under probate rules. It had only been restored because the crate had been dropped at some point when it was released to come back to the UK damaging the body work.
The Interceptor FF 7.8 litre and a very nice 53 Anglia stood out!!! ;D
The car park at the front (of the Olde Bell Barnby Moor near Retford) was the only place I took photos too busy talking, at the rear another area had a number of E Type DHC's and a great full rally prep Triumph 2000TC.
Sorry about the picture quailty it wasn't that foggy, think I need a new phone, camera scratched
Nice drive home in the rain going to have to clean the Anglia again for the Knaresboro cruise.
Cheers Bomber
