Hopefully Jimmy, I've looked at your build and the brackets on the axle are not cymetrical, What made you fit them the way up that you did??? The axle I got had been narrowed to 48" and its still tooooo wide, need to take another 25mm out of each side and the half shafts have not been narrowed enough so they need 35mm out of them... I've also taken the rear discs and calipers off the Rover that the engine came out of and they'll go under me 13" slots so thats a bit of a result... Cheers Marcus

MARCUS, I LOOKED AT A FEW RALLY ESCORTS AND THEY ALL SEEMED TO BE THAT WAY UP, SO I THOUGHT IF IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR THEM WITH THYE ABUSE THEY GET, THEN IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.

I've been looking at them in detail tonight and am a little worried about them being close to the ground and sleeping bobbies.....
Am trying to get the stance of the car at about the same ride height as yours is, but without letting the air out, If that makes sense....
So time for a technical question?
Which tyre size gives more grip? 175/50/13? or 185/5513?
Cheers Marcus

depend what your doing with the car, more side wall movement means more heat but if your going to track it then it can lead to quicker jelly tires!, then there is the issue with tyre make and model. I know not the cheapest but a set of 185 888 toyos would be nice..... the 185/55 will give you a side wall of 101mm total and the 175/50 will be 87mm total so only 14mm total (7mm top and 7mm bottom) in reality Marcus I cant see it making any real difference. I think make and model will have biggest impact..
