As Marcus has already mentioned, we went to California in October and went on a pilgrimage to all things automotive. The Pomona swap meet was high on the list and came well recommended from friends that had been before, some of whom had purchased there. We were not disappointed.......
Ostrich leg for breakfast anyone?
The owner of this early 'vette below was probably about 80 years old and walked with sticks. He was very talkative and showed us an album of the build. It was what he had always wanted and happily admitted he had paid for it to be built for him. Its basically a fifties shell on up to date chassis and running gear, had been entered in eighty odd shows, and had won best in show in all but six of them. Not surprisingly the detailed build sheet at the end of the album totalled $335,000 !!
