Yep £12 per ton which I know doesn't sound a lot but I've had one load collected and there's another two loads on the front awaiting collection. I think there is easily another two or even three loads left, and then we start all over again with the mud...

I'm lucky because I can dump hardcore, rubble and soil at my pals yard for nearly free (bottle of brandy and £100 for 50 tons when we did the drive, and that included using his dumper) £12 per ton is not bad but it doesn't half add up. Make sure you use RC50 concrete, it's much tougher than garage base crap and not much more expensive if you buy enough. Think I paid around £75 plus vat per cube.

Grab truck turned up this morning at 7.20am and driver told me there was about 18/19 ton piled on my front. He advised me he was turning his weigh scales off and then loaded the full pile onto his truck. A tenner tip was handed over for his helpfulness...

Mick we have two entrances on to the drive so it made sense to dump the stuff on there so that the grass on the front doesn't get destroyed.... As for the base, am hoping there will be a concrete laying party on the 3rd of May, but lets get the mud out first lol
Cheers Marcus
