I had a bit of a head scratching day on Wednesday,I am waiting for the new spacers to be made for the TCA arms so had to start looking at the steering.... Not good news tho, I stripped the column off the rack which had been welded together... Slotted the column into place and its right smack bang in the middle of the last header pipe... I can't move the column left due to the cage tube and if I put it to the right the steering wheel will end up in the middle of the car . I tried altering the angle and thats no good either due to the UJ's not operating properly or safely beyond a 15-20 degree angle... I've studied the car in detail and I think it use to have fender well headers to allow clearance for the steering, this would also explain the cut outs in the lower edge of the front wings... I've spoken to Adam today and he has told me where the seat is going to mount and hopefully this means I can put the bottom of the column through the floor/bottom of bulk head and this should(all being well)cure our clearance problems.... Cheers Marcus

Here are the spacers I've had made out of stainless steal bar.The one on the left is the original and the new ones are on the right.I had to have these made to make up the gap between the new mounting points and the arm..... And here is the arm mounted into place.... Cheers Marcus

It is amazing how many problems one job can turn up, a what seems to be a striaght forward upgrade turns into a real head scratcher (don't scratch to much Marcus hair loss!!) Under the floor seems to be the answer hope it works mate. Adam; Marcus will come up with the best solution, stay in there things will work out OK
