Well did a bit of playing around over weekend with engine mounts, this is what I have come up with..... Before I weld them to chassis what do you think??? not only looks but also your thoughts on strength . The tube is 20mm OD and 4mm thick.....

I'M NOT AN EXPERT MICK, BUT IF THE SHORT 'LEG' IS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CHASSIS, I WOULD MOVE IT TO THE OUTSIDE EDGE, DON'T KNOW WHAT BHP YOU'LL BE RUNNING BUT JUST THINKING OF TORQUE TWIST FROM THE ENGINE, ALSO IF THEY ARE POLY BUSHES IT MIGHT VIBRATE THROUGH THE RAILS. JUST A THOUGHT BUT COULD YOU USE THE ROUND CAPRI TYPE BETWEEN TWO PLATES, IT MIGHT BE A BIT MORE FORGIVING. JUST MY OPINION, BUT THE ENGINEERING IS SPOT ON AS USUAL.

Looks fine to me Mick...Take no notice of Gun-Ho Fillis... Welding looks fine and I reckon they'll be more than adequate for that little motor of yours.... Cheers Marcus

Looks good Mick, they look like they have designed rather just sticking a big lump of steel in there, it would be nice to see the gearbox mounts mirror the same design.
Cheers Bomber

Jimmy I did do as you thought to start with and for some reason I just thought that the shorter bracket going slightly in-wards seemed to spread the load a bit more... They are polly bush as you say and I guess they will transmit a bit through the chassis but they are also what Wisbech Engineering use on all there chassis builds (thats where I got the bush from)... The shorter bracket is actually pretty straight down the other two are facing out-wards . Ill have another look tomorrow with your thoughts in mind. Bomber ill do my best on the G Box mount. I got sumut Fillis needs so I know he will be nice to me
