Just a little update tonight, I started making a 6mm bracket last week, so that I could mount the servo/master cylinder behind the cross member... First was to cut a 57mm hole in the centre of the plate and then drill the four mounting holes... Next was to convince my local machine shop to bend it 45degrees at each end.... I offered it up to the bars and there was not going to be enough of a contact point to weld too and be sure that it wouldn't brake under heavy braking.... So I decided to cut out half circles to make the plate sit round the tubes and allow for a lot more weld contact area... Now this thought was easier than the effort needed to cut them. After drawing where the plate needed cutting out, I sliced down several times with the hack saw and broke the steel off with some mole grips... I then used my die-grinder to profile the shape into a snug fit round the pipe... As you can imagine it was a slowly slowly approach so as not to take too much metal out in one go but a couple of hours later and job done.... Here are a couple of pics of the bracket in place and then the servo bolted on, and finally the master cylinder.Although the bracket is not in its final position yet, it's ready for when the pedal bracket goes into place next week.... Next couple of jobs that are on going at the moment, are the rear shock mounts and also the prop hand brake system but as soon as there something to see I'll post some pictures... Cheers Marcus

Fits nice into the chassis really neat job mate, guess that its now a matter of getting the pedal mount lined up spot on with the servo/master cylinder so the extension bar operates in a perfectly striaght line.
Richard Mann is on standby to make up the front hubs as soon as you need them (it will take about 2 weeks for production). Have you got some time scales on when the prop is going to be measured up knowing that the whole chassis is going to Yorkshire for that job and you'll need the wheels on until after then.

Come on Roland Ratty... Where are your build PICS... Not been able to put an update on here for a while due to having bits made and doing lots of head scratching stuff before jumping in with the next steps... So here is the prop hand brake disc. First job the machine shop did was to cut down the original yoke and then thread it... They then turned up a stainless steel brake disc.So no rusty, rusty ;D This has also been threaded on the inside of the centre hole, so that it will screw onto the yoke.. They then made a lock nut to make double sure that the disc can not come unscrewed.... Next was three spacers so that the rubber vibration damper will bolt to the brake disc.... Here it is bolted into place... And with the caliper just mocked up into place.. Tomorrow am off up to Leeds to get measured up for the prop shaft. When I get back I'll start making up a bracket to bolt the caliper on with...

I'd be tempted to have the disc surface ground if it wasn't full machined

Charlie thanks for your thought...After you mentioned it I got thinking and maybe I'll have it media blasted to give it a bit of bite for the pads.... Last night I decided it was time to have a go at making up a bracket to hold the Hand brake caliper in place.I decided to use 3mm MDF to mock the bracket up in because its so much easier and quicker than 6mm steel and if it goes tits up, I could always set fire to it ;D and start again ... So here's the first attempt... I basically cut a square of MDF off and held it up into place, I then use a 95mm hole saw and cut out a hole to fit the bracket over the end of the input shaft on the diff casing... I then mocked up the caliper to work out how much material I need to leave behind so as to try and give the bracket some sort of shape.... Unfortunately for me I was not born with any artistic talents at all.I even struggle with stick men So my excellent apprentice stepped in and took my first bracket and just used it for the mounting points and drew a new shape on another piece of MDF for me to start again with.... ;D Cheers Marcus

So it was back in the garage too cut out mock No.2... The upper one is my attempt.... and the lower one is what Claire drew for me..... Quite a difference am sure you'll agree... Mine is the one on the left!!!!! So once I was happy with the pretend one it was time to cut a piece of 6mm mild steel off one of the strips I have and start making the proper bracket....Half way through cutting it tho the chop saw decided to puff a load of smoke out of the motor assembly vents....F***ing great so I got the grinder out with a slitter disc and finished the job off... Next job was to mark out the shape and cut the 95mm hole in it, now this doesn't take too long but needs lots of lube to keep the saw cool.Only draw back is the noise, although I've got it on slow speed she SCREEMS... So then it was a quick file round to get rid of the sharp edges.. Slowly Slowly does it and keep trying it at every stage so as not to have to start again.... More Tomoz...Cheers Marcus
