Hi Marcus, I bought it on a whim really, I've always loved this shape Thunderbird since I built a model as a kid. I particularly like the hardtop. I'd been looking at the dealers site for a while, he is very reasonable and seemed very forthright with the description. Then the car appeared on us ebay and I was the high bidder but as usual reserve not met The guy contacted me and we hit a deal. It's cheap for how nice it seems to be (I just hope it's as nice as it looks!) After we agreed on a price he told me the last owner spent more than that on rebuilding the drivetrain! Thought I'd buy it and run it for a bit then move it on, kind of get it out of my system. Mark, hopefully I'll do it on a weekday but it depends when it comes in, might be Saturday morning as that is the only weekend time the docks open in Southampton. I still need to finalise shipping although I have a great contact ( Kingstown shipping in Hull ) Will update when I know more. Cheers! Simon

Gorgeous, great colour and I agree, the hard top is better than the convertible. I had a '61 convertible in yellow with a red interior when I was in my 20s, two things, by the time the roof had done its thing, the battery was flat and I had to permanantly carry a gallon of petrol with me to pour down the carb when it ran out They are a lot of fun though I will help with the garage an go to Southampton

Cheers Marcus, I'd be happy to find a cheaper shipper. Kingstown were way cheap last time, they've quoted me £1450 this time. Its coming out of Seattle area. Please let me know if you get any other shippers details.
Thanks Kenny, I like the convertible but the hardtop is a real looker for me. These cars are reputed to have poor electrics but reportedly everything works well on this one.

Simon, Carl used Rinkens international shippers.... www.cfrrinkens.com/I think this is the reason why there cheaper. But am sure its how all the shipping agencies do it, they just dont tell ya so they can justify the charges and make more MONEY....
